Trainees going through Basic Training or One Station Unit Training experience their first Field Training Exercise #FTX called "The Hammer" in week 3. This #FTX challenges Trainees on all Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills they've learned during their transition from civilian into U.S. Army Soldier. Trainees will experience two more #FTXs during their BCT portion of Initial Military Training, which build upon one another to challenge them on their Warrior Tasks, battle Drills, and Skill Level 1 Task

Throughout the 72-hour culminating Field Training Exercise #FTX called the Forge Basic Trainees are tasked with engaging OPFOR, reacting to a mass casualty event, resupplying, and proving their proficiency in all Skill Level 1 Tasks they've learned to date. This #FTX is the Trainee's final graduation requirement prior to participating in the Soldier Ceremony, which graduates Trainees to the rank of Soldier. | U.S. Army Center for Initial Military Training
