Seriously stop saying this. It's incredibly insulting. I have heard behavioral therapist say this and it makes me cringe 😬. Even repeating it in a conversation recently to discuss it made me want to barf. On quantitative sensory tests, there were no differences in thermal and pain detection thresholds between the autistic and non-autistic people. Saying that an autistic person has different pain receptors than a neurotypical person does is ignorant. Studies have shown that autistic individuals
