In a trade with the Miami Marlins on Friday, Jan. 2, the Twins acquired Eric Wagaman, who played 140 games last year before he was designated for assignment on Dec. 30. Wagaman hit .250 with nine homers and 53 RBI while posting a .296 on-base percentage and a .674 OPS in 476 at-bats.
O'Hearn hit .281 with 17 home runs and 63 RBIs in 2025 and made the All-Star team for the first time while playing for Baltimore and San Diego. The rare splurge by the Pirates is their second significant acquisition in less than a week.
